A basement built around a custom wet bar with tile backsplash and new flooring throughout.
The lower level was planned around the bar rather than the bar being squeezed in afterwards. Custom cabinetry, a herringbone tile backsplash and new flooring across the whole level turned a storage basement into somewhere people actually go.
Putting the half bath on the adjoining wall let both share a plumbing run, which is the kind of decision that saves real money if it is made before framing rather than after.
