Handyman Services

Repairs, painting, flooring and finish work, from a single room to a full punch list.

handyman services

Not every job is a renovation. Trim that never got finished, a floor with a soft spot, a room that needs painting, a door that has not closed properly in two years.

We keep room in the calendar for them, and we send the same carpenters who do the larger work. The quality of a repair is mostly about who is holding the tools.

painting

Painting and drywall

Interior painting, patching, water damage repair and texture matching. Matching an existing texture is the part people underestimate; a patch that is flat against a textured wall is more obvious than the hole was.

Flooring and tile repair

Replacing damaged boards, re-securing loose tile, regrouting, transitions and thresholds. We will tell you honestly when a repair will be visible and replacing the run is the better spend.

carpentry, doors, trim

Carpentry, doors and trim

Interior and exterior doors that have dropped or stick, casing and base, shelving, railings and built-ins. Older houses move, so hanging a door well is rarely as simple as swapping the slab.

Fixtures and finish work

Vanities, faucets, lighting, hardware, towel bars, mirrors and bath accessories, mounted into blocking rather than drywall anchors wherever we can reach it.

Punch lists and ongoing maintenance

The list that builds up after a move or another contractor finishes. We also keep up ongoing maintenance for past clients and for property managers who would rather call one number.

Handyman Services in Metro Detroit

We regularly take on this work in South Lyon, Northville, Plymouth, Salem, Canton, Livonia, Novi, Farmington and New Hudson. Nearby but not on the list? Call and we will tell you straight away whether we can get to you.

Smaller jobs are scheduled around active projects, so there is usually a short wait. If something is causing damage, say so when you call and we will work it in sooner.

Common questions about repairs and smaller jobs

Do you take on small jobs?

Yes. It is often worth keeping a running list rather than calling each time something comes up, so we can work through several things in one visit.

How soon can you come out?

Smaller work is scheduled around active remodels, so it is usually a couple of weeks rather than a couple of days. If something is causing damage, say so when you call and we will work it in sooner.

What does a repair visit cost?

It depends on the work. We look at the list, give you a number before we start, and stick to it rather than billing hourly and surprising you at the end.

Do you do work for people who have not hired you before?

Yes. A lot of our larger projects started with a repair call, and a lot of our repair work is for people whose remodel we finished years ago.

Is there anything you do not take on?

We are not an emergency service and we do not do appliance repair, HVAC servicing or electrical panel work. For those we will point you to someone who does it properly.

Have a list that needs working through?

Tell us about the space, your goals and the timeline you have in mind. We'll use our years of expertise to put together a successful project plan.
