When I was 14 years old my parents constructed a large addition on our house in Plymouth. My family hired a good friend to rough in the addition and my dad and I pretty much did the rest. I learned a lot during this project and over the years I began to gain an interest in working with my hands. After I graduated from high school I got a job with a commercial construction company as a laborer. I did everything from sweeping floors and picking up garbage to landscaping and operating heavy equipment. I learned a lot about commercial construction during this time.
After about two years in commercial work I realized I wanted to focus my skills on residential remodeling. So, I got a job with a local builder. We did everything from bathroom/kitchen remodels, basement finishing, decks, and even a couple of large additions. After five years with this builder I realized I wanted to work for myself so I got a part time job at Home Depot and started doing some side jobs.
I then decided I would like to start my own company. So I took, and passed, the builders license exam for the state of Michigan. Soon after I started Marsh Maintenance, LLC in 2006. Ten years later in 2016 we changed our name to Marsh Contracting. I felt it represents more of what we do as whole. I have been in the construction/remodeling business for 18 years now I love this line of work because it gives me the opportunity to meet and build relationships with many different people. It also allows me to expand my skill set to a variety of projects and allows me to grow professionally as well as personally, that's why this is the perfect career for me...and the perfect company for you!
